Sustaining the Sustainer: Well-Being for Fundraisers

"Are you happy in your job?" is a frequent question all of us have answered (sometimes truthfully and sometimes not). We seem to put real pressure on our happiness, but are we looking at all the factors, and is it really about being happy, or is it about being fulfilled? We'll discuss professional and personal elements of what it means to be fulfilled in your job and why that has been, and continues to be, as challenging as ever for fundraising professionals, CEOs, and boards of directors.

The presentation includes insight from current practitioners and results from a pulse survey on staffing and the philanthropic landscape.

Acknowledging the tension-filled dynamics of the fundraising profession including but not limited to, reduction in federal support, what some might consider an assault on the industry by the current administration, a decline in giving outside of major and principal gifts, increased demand from nearly all at-risk and compromised communities have made the demands of the modern-day fundraiser greater than ever. As such, fundraisers continue to either switch jobs or leave the profession.

What does the future of our profession look like and what options are available to both those in this terrific profession and the organizations who rely on their expertise? This session seeks to unfold, discuss, and present opportunities for those in attendance.
