Alexandria Gates serves as Senior Director of Development for the Krieger School of Arts and Sciences at Johns Hopkins University, where she leads the school’s major, principal, and foundation giving programs, as well as donor relations and stewardship. She manages a team of fundraising and donor relations professionals and works closely with the Dean’s Office and university leadership to advance strategic priorities, strengthen donor engagement, and align philanthropic support with the school’s mission.
Recognized for her ability to translate institutional priorities into compelling philanthropic opportunities, Alexandria has led multi-million-dollar campaigns, secured transformational gifts, and expanded donor pipelines across diverse and international markets. Her leadership combines strategic vision with operational excellence, enabling teams to exceed goals while fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and purpose.
Throughout her career, Alexandria has built and guided high-performing teams, developed innovative engagement strategies for individuals, corporations, and foundations, and advanced initiatives that have strengthened academic programs, financial aid, and faculty excellence. She brings deep expertise in campaign planning, stakeholder relations, and complex gift negotiations.
Alexandria also serves on the board of the Association of Fundraising Professionals – DC Chapter, where she contributes to advancing the profession and supporting initiatives that promote leadership, inclusion, and excellence in philanthropy.
