Chief Executive Officer
GoodUnited
Nick Black is the Co-Founder and CEO of GoodUnited, a venture-backed B2B SaaS company that built the first direct-messaging fundraising solution for nonprofits. GoodUnited has helped the world’s largest nonprofit organizations raise over $1 billion through personalized 1:1 supporter engagement on social media.
Nick’s leadership at GoodUnited has earned recognition as a finalist for EY’s Southeast Entrepreneur of the Year and as The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill’s 2017 Distinguished Young Alumnus—the first recipient from the MBA program.
For more than fifteen years, Nick has been an innovator at the intersection of business, technology, and social impact. The idea for GoodUnited grew from his experience co-founding Stop Soldier Suicide, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that evolved from a startup into one of the largest and most effective post-9/11 veteran-serving organizations in the U.S. His impact there led to his selection as a Presidential Leadership Scholar and Leadership North Carolina Fellow.
Before his career in entrepreneurship, Nick served six years as a Ranger-qualified Army Officer with the 173rd Airborne Brigade, leading Paratroopers through 27 months in combat across Afghanistan. He was awarded two Bronze Stars and an Army Commendation Medal for Valor, and was ranked #1 among 50 peer officers in a premier infantry battalion.
Drawing from his military leadership, nonprofit innovation, and business expertise, Nick is dedicated to helping organizations connect with supporters in more meaningful, measurable ways—bridging purpose and performance to drive impact at scale.
