As SVP of Development at Special Olympics International (SOI), Shira Mitchell provides strategic direction and coordination for direct response, canvassing, planned and major giving, and corporate partnership fundraising initiatives. Prior to SOI, she worked for the US Holocaust Memorial Museum where she was responsible for acquiring, stewarding, and soliciting donors through direct response marketing channels. In 2018, Shira received the ANA Nonprofit Federation Rising Leader Award, recognizing achievement, innovation, and leadership in the fundraising community. Shira has a MA from the George Washington University and resides in northern Virginia with her husband and two children.
