Mike Johnston has been a fundraiser for 37 years, working in over 50 countries with hundreds of charities. He has been consulting on integrated and digital fundraising since 1998. An expert in fundraising innovation and integrated marketing, he specializes in digital technologies, journey mapping, and moves management.
He authored The Fundraiser’s Guide to the Internet, Internet Strategies: Best Practices for Marketing, and more, contributing to numerous books and magazines. Mike was a founding board member of the e-Philanthropy Foundation and chaired its Education Committee, as well as the first global charity online lottery, Globelot. He also co-founded the Integrated Marketing Advisory Board and serves on The Resource Alliance’s U.S. board, where he chaired the Fundraising Online conference.
Beyond fundraising, Mike is training as an ice hockey referee, loves board games, and has a fundraising tattoo. His wife, Karen, was nominated for space travel, and he has two great adult children, Laura and Andrew.
