Enabling Digital
Alan Levine, a Partner with Enabling Digital, builds on over 35 years of senior nonprofit IT and leadership experience to guide organizations in creative uses of information technology to achieve their desired mission, fundraising and operational outcomes. He has advised organizations of all sizes, nationally and internationally, has served as an Executive Coach to individual CIO and senior IT leaders, and is a regular presenter and participant on expert panels at non-profit and IT industry conferences. Alan has served as a virtual CIO for organizations including the Institute for Healthcare Improvement, Covenant House International, The League of Women Voters, and the Children’s Science Center and he has led technology vision and strategy development and software selection projects for global non-profits such as Care (humanitarian and development), Rare (conservation and social impact), and Right to Play International. His work has also included cultural organizations including the New England Aquarium, Carnegie Hall, Children’s Museum of Indianapolis, Franklin Institute, and youth organizations such as BBYO, and conservation organizations such as The Nature Conservancy and Rare.
Alan served as a managing partner with Barker & Scott Consulting before transitioning its consulting services to Enabling Digital. Prior to that, Alan served as the CIO of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, DC, where he oversaw all information technology, analytics/business intelligence, web and multimedia/streaming, and telecommunications operations. While at the Kennedy Center, Alan also taught and consulted with many museums, performing arts and cultural institutions through the DeVos Institute of Arts Management. Alan is past President of CIO/Arts, a founding member of the worldwide CIO Executive Council, has served on the Small Agency CIO Council of the US Federal Government. Alan was a founding Board Member and past Chairperson of the Board of the Tessitura Network, Inc., which provides state-of-the-art software for customer relationship management, ticketing, and fundraising to museums, zoos, aquariums and performing arts organizations in six countries.
