Katherine O’Hare is Chief Development Officer at Points of Light, a global nonprofit that inspires, equips, and mobilizes millions of people to take positive action that changes the world through volunteering. She leads the organization’s global development strategy, driving partnerships across corporate, foundation, and individual channels to advance nonprofit capacity, civic engagement and community impact.
With nearly 15 years of experience in philanthropy and nonprofit leadership, Katherine has raised and managed more than $250 million in support of causes spanning equity, youth development, food security, and disaster relief. She brings deep expertise in strategic fundraising transformation with building high-performing teams, leveraging data and technology, and aligning mission-driven storytelling with modern donor engagement.
Prior to joining Points of Light, Katherine served as Senior Vice President of Corporate Partnerships and Foundations, following leadership roles at American Humane and National 4-H Council. At 4-H, she developed award-winning cause marketing campaigns that increased funding by 175 percent and elevated brand visibility nationwide.
A former U.S. Peace Corps Volunteer in Cameroon, Katherine holds degrees from Temple University and George Mason University and is a Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE). Based in Washington, D.C., she’s passionate about reimagining the future of philanthropy and creating pathways for people everywhere to lead with purpose.
