Michael has been a fundraising and leadership professional for nearly 20 years while serving as a proud member of the Blood Cancer United team since 2018. Michael currently serves as the Senior Vice President for Advancement where he leads the comprehensive scope of individual philanthropy across the organization. This includes the areas of major gifts, principal gifts, Foundation relations, as well as Estate & Planned Giving. Michael holds a Master’s degree in Organizational leadership as well as various philanthropy professional credentials including the CFRE designation (certified fundraising executive) and the C.A.P designation (Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy).
Prior to joining Blood Cancer United, Michael served in several fundraising leadership roles with the American Cancer Society and the Special Olympics of New York. Michael is also extremely committed and passionate when it comes to developing future professionals across the sector and helping to impact the greater professional fundraising field. He contributes to this effort through teaching leadership and philanthropy program design courses at several colleges, serving on the board and various committees with the Association of Fundraising Professionals, as well as serving as a CFRE (Certified Fundraising Executive) ambassador and program mentor.
Michael resides in Orchard Park, NY with his wife Danielle, their two boys Leo and Joey, their dog Winston, and their bearded Dragon, Larry. Michael also enjoys being an avid endurance athlete, having completed multiple Ironman and Half Ironman triathlons, as well as climbing all 48 peaks across the New Hampshire White Mountains.
