Giving Days ignite generosity, but too often, the spark fades after 24 hours. Spur Local and CauseVox set out to change that by reinventing the systems behind them. Together, they built a new model that turns a single-day campaign into lasting digital infrastructure for regional philanthropy.
Spur Local’s annual Giving Day now empowers more than 200 small nonprofits across the DC region through modular fundraising pages that blend individualized storytelling with shared technology, branding, and data. This design allows each organization to showcase its unique voice while benefiting from collective visibility and streamlined operations. The results speak for themselves: deeper donor engagement, less administrative time, higher donor retention, and more than $1 million raised annually.
At the heart of this transformation is The Collaborative Innovation Framework, a co-design model that blends agile technology development with real-time nonprofit feedback. By fostering shared ownership, open communication, and iterative design, Spur Local and CauseVox turned a vendor relationship into a true innovation partnership.
In this session, they’ll share practical frameworks for scoping new functionality, triaging feedback, and scaling trust-based collaboration across hundreds of organizations.
